Active Communities

The Active Communities programme is a SPARC initiative through which investment is made in territorial and regional authorities to develop physical activity opportunities by reducing barriers to participation n sport and physical recreation at a community level.
Territorial (city and district councils) and regional authorities can gain both financial and service support from SPARC for programmes which will help make New Zealand the world's most active nation and ensure we have effective sport and recreation systems.
Current Active Community projects include the Nelson and Tasman districts Way2Go initative.
